News3rd European Conference on ICT for Transport Logistics 2010 in Bremen
The 3rd European Conference on ICT for Transport Logistics (ECITL´10) will take place in Bremen on November, 4 – 5 and is supported by the Minister for Economic Affairs and Ports of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen.

DP World joins hands with INTEGRITY's IT system SICISOn Friday 11th June 2010 DP World, one of the world’s largest terminal operators, and the Consortium of the INTEGRITY project (Intermodal Global Door-to-door Container Supply Chain Visibility) signed a cooperation agreement. ISL at the Bremen Container Security Conference in ShanghaiOn June 9th, 2010 Rainer Müller, member of the Institute for Shipping Economics and Logistics Bremen, presented the EU-funded project INTEGRITY (Intermodal Global Door-to-door Container Supply Chain Visibility) at the “Bremen Container Security Conference” in Shanghai. The conference entitled “Solutions for Enhancing Container Security Worldwide” was organised by the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the German Federal State of Bremen, the German Industry & Co. Ltd Shanghai and the German Logistics Association (BVL) and took place within the scope of the transport logistic China 2010 in Shanghai. INTEGRITY reaches new milestone using Container Security DevicesINTEGRITY (Intermodal Global Door-to-door Supply Chain Visibility) has achieved one of its major milestones. By using data from Container Security Devices (CSDs) the developed IT-platform SICIS (Shared Intermodal Container Information System) is now able to monitor container movements by merging data from CSDs and terminal messages. INTEGRITY delegation visited Chinese trade lane partnersShenzhen, China, and Hong Kong were the destinations for the trip of a European INTEGRITY delegation to Asia from March 3rd to 5th. Visits to INTEGRITY partner companies which are based in Asia were scheduled among other issues. SICIS combines container monitoring and AIS - vessel trackingIn September 2009 INTEGRITY implemented its IT platform, the Shared Intermodal Container Information System SICIS. SICIS tracks containers along the entire logistics chain and registers all data and related events which are generated during the transport. SICIS regularly monitors the INTEGRITY consortium members’ containers from China to Europe. By the end of the project the aim is for several thousand containers to have been monitored by this IT platform. Project management meeting in Den Haag on 2nd and 3rd February 2010
From February, 2 to 3, 2010 Den Haag was the venue of the 4th INTEGRITY Project management meeting. Representatives of all project partners have met to discuss the current project status and the next steps which have to be done.

IJSTL special issue on "Container Security and Supply Chain Visibility": Deadline extendedThe special issue of the International Journal of Shipping and Transport Logistics (IJSTL) on "Container Security and Supply Chain Visibility" will be published in 2010 and focuses on innovative concepts and visions about how security and optimisation of logistics processes, which create real supply chain visibility, can be obtained in the best possible and acceptable way. Contributions may focus on one issue (e.g. a technological solution) or – preferably - on a complete picture of future procedures. Therefore, the presentation of different scenarios for possible developments and roadmaps is envisaged. |
